Employee Assistance Programs

This program can be provided as a stand-alone benefit or can be part of ‘Wellness’ or ‘Group’ plans for the employees. The main function is to assist the employees to lead healthier, happier and more productive lives in and out of the workplace. There are a wide range of services including counseling for emotional problems and personal and professional issues. This could involve issues ranging from child care breakdown, illness in the family, quitting smoking, debt reduction, stress caused by changes in the workplace, legal issues and/or care of an aging parent. Counselling could involved 24/7 telephone access, in-person consultations, referrals to community resources, educational material and/or online interactive tools. Any contacts made by employees are held in strictest confidence by the practitioner involved. No personal information is ever divulged. General reports concerning usage are issued to the employer at various points in time to quantify the program’s success within the benefit package.
